Best runes/insignias for warriors
Hello, I made a warrior a while back. I desided to get some elite armor, and work on the charecter a bit, so can you guys tell me what the best combo for armor is for warriors (screenshots of armor description welcome), I usually run Sword and strength. I was thinking +50 w/ survivor anf vitea (not sure on spelling). Thats what I do with most of my armor, but dont know if its the right thing to do with a warrior, thanks everyone.
Oh, and if this isnt in right spot im truly sorry.

You need some energy for skills. It takes time to build adrenaline up. The best general warrior builds have both types of skills on the bar.

Survivors Head of (whatever weapon)
Survivors Chest of Supp Vigor
Stonefist Boots of Strength
Survivors Leggings of -20% blind rune
Survivors Boots of Vitae
as for armor combos(for male
Elite glad arms/chest with FoW, Elite Platemail, or Elite Kurzick leggings and boots and either bandanna, fow helm, or elite charr hide helm are pretty nice looking
Deldrimor as a whole set is also nice, as is silver eagle and monument
also, a decent pve sword build
Dragon Slash
Brawling Headbutt
Save Yourselves
Flail
Enraging Charge
Enduring Harmony
For Great Justice
Res Sig(or optional, I am unstoppable for places with giants stomp and kd's)
Basically, enduring harmony then FGJ yourself, enraging charge to build adren, then spam dragon slash and save yourselves, with brawling headbutt for a spammable kd(with decent damage at high enough ranks)

Survivor on four pieces, Stonefist on the remaining spot.
Best vigor you can afford, minor strength, minor of your weapon (consider multiple helmets if you want to use different weapons), rune of clarity, rune of vitae.

Follow Racthoh's advice word for word. My PvP warrior usually gets a Rune of Restoration instead of the Vitae, but especially for PvE purposes there's no need for anything different than what he said.

Slight tangent:
Is there any hope of ANet making all headgear attribute +1? When I crafted my armour I was a bit of an idiot and made them strength +1 and I'd really love the ability to make them something else without having to drop another 15k+materials.
Back on topic: heh, does anyone even bother with tactics any more?

In pvp anyone attacking a war will swap to an elemental weapon.
In pve it doesnt matter anyway.

Ever since they changed Absorption to only affect physical damage, Absorption has been useless except for specific farming builds.

Unless it is for a very specific build, no. I still use some Tactics when I use my Warrior to run, other than that, and the occasional AB/RA Glad's Defense Riposter (<-- lol/rolls eyes), I don't see Tactics being used much at all on Warriors.

Unless you have a runner bar, not really. Tactics got screwed when anet decided it would make a better paragon attribute than a warrior attribute.

For PvE a superior one its still a viable alternative to a rune of vitae.
For PvE-only:
Four Sentry's, one Stonefist.
Superior vigor, minor strength, minor weapon, rune of clarity, superior absorption.
For PvP:
Follow zelgadissan advice.

i run sentinel on head, chest and feet, stonefist on legs, lieutenant's on hands (never changed it out but its pretty useful i guess) XD
then minor str, minor wep, sup vig, sup absorb and attunement.
sure i dont have as much health but the mitigation makes up for it, and degen isnt that hard to deal with, i use similar set ups in ab and ra.

LOL...
Yeah tactics is useless. Only skill worth considering in that line is maybe heal sig, and lions comfort is better due to adrenaline gain, no need for split atts and no -40al

I think you might still find the odd Mo/W using Balanced Stance and Disciplined Stance in RA/AB if that counts for anything. Absorption runes could've been acceptable on a split warrior way back when even after the change (although that is open to debate). They're perfectly acceptable to run in PvE since you can always expect frequent physical damage.

Shutting down physicals is significantly easier than shutting down a caster in just about every case. Blocks and weakness are simple tools to work into every 8 man team. Caster shutdown is far less common and restricted to fewer professions, not to mention there are far more sources of AoE elemental attacks than physical. Those elemental sources also go through the blocks, miss hexes, and weakness; physical AoE/attacks won't.
Arming yourself with mix and match +armor vs. x means you're playing the chance game; something you never want to play. The tales of multiple attacks hitting through Blind are more than enough reason not to rely on chance. Odds of that happening are far slimmer than being hit in the chest. Optimally you'll want either +health or universal +AL. +health is generally the best because it always works no matter what. If you're going to stick with a single set of armor it's the best choice. This is especially true for PvP because you never know what you're going to be facing. The paragon's Centurion insignia, and for a while the Mesmer's Artificer, are the only exception to not using survivor's. For specific PvE farming builds the enemies you encounter determine whether the extra armor or health is better suited.

Lieutenant's lowers your damage and the reduction in curse duration is not significant enough to have a big impact on the outcome of the battle. That is, not for the trade off in damage. Sentinel's can be troublesome when faced with Weakness.

Four weapon sets; vampiric, zealous, elemental, spear/wand. Learn to effectively weapon swap so you can drop the +2 energy for +10 health.

Pretty much what rac said...minor swords/axe/hammer on helmet, superior vigor rune and survivor insig on chest, rest of armor use viate runes and survivor insigs (putting stonefist insig on gloves) and there you have it.
Note: for pvp you might want to slighty mod the above i.e adding blind reducing rune etc.
